What an inning from “King Kohli”, Pakistan team should name him “Invincible Kohli” as he is being out playing them in ICC tournaments. The India Pakistan match has a different vibe as these matches happens once in two or four years. Supporters come out in numbers to support their favorite players and team. But is it observed India has upper hand from last 3 to 4 ICC tournaments. India is not only winning but they are winning with ease, like today. The Pakistan team has lost its zeal against team India.
What wrong Pakistan is doing which is costing them matches against India? They don’t have belief in themselves that they can win against mighty team India. Few pointers what I have observed in India vs Pakistan Champion trophy match played in Dubai today are as under.
When Haris Rauf come to ball his first over, Kohli has played a shot, and ball went towards third man where Naseem Shah was fielding, he did not even made an attempt to take that catch. If it was Indian fielder or someone from Australia or New Zealand they would have caught the ball.
Pakistan is heavily dependent on Babar Azam and Rizwan in their batting department and their tail ender hardly can score run against quality bowling. They should have Six specialist batsmen including wicketkeeper and four specialist bowlers, and one all-rounder like great Imran Khan. (If they are playing in sub-continent two quality spinner should be in list of eleven.
Bowler like Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf should make ways to younger placers or learn to be consistent. They are not effective as they used to be. Shaheen and Rauf cannot bowl length and wish to take wickets, variation was missing from their bowling. Indian pacer Rana adjusted well in this condition, and he bowled with lots of variation.
If Pakistan don’t make necessary changes, in their team, their thought process and intent, they will lose the Bangladesh match also. They should introspect as a team.
