Sarfaraz Khan, a 12 year boy, studying in Springfield Rizvi school amassed 439 runs off 421 balls against Indian Education Society in an U-16 inter-school Harris cricket tournament. Sarfaraz Khan reached this record score of 439 by hitting 12 sixes and 56 fours. Sarfaraz says he is a complete target man, and he reached this mammoth score of 439 by achieving small targets which his coach has made for him while he was batting.
Harris cricket tournament is the same school tournament in which Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli made history by having a partnership of 664 runs. Sachin and Kambli made 329 and 349 respectively in a match against St Xavier’s in the year 1988.
Arman Jaffer, Springfield Rizvi school mumbai
Arman Jaffer, 13 year old son of Kalim Jaffer, and nephew of former Indian opening batsmen Wasim Jaffer, scored 498 runs off 490. He missed 500 mark by two runs. He broke Ali Zorain Khan record of 461 runs.
Both the players have potential of becoming Sachin tendulkar in future, we just have to see how they cope up with performance pressure.
