Ricky Thomas Ponting (born on December 19, 1974 in Bombay, Maharashtra) also known as “Punter”, made his debut in 1995 at Wellington. He is a former captain of the Australian cricket team between 2002 and 2011 in ODI cricket. He remains the most successful Australian captain of all time. He scored his first century against Sri Lanka in 1996 with 123 runs. His highest one day international score is 164 against South Africa in March 2006 at Johannesburg. As of August 2011, he has scored 13,602 ODI runs with 30 centuries against eleven countries, and 81 fifties.
