Toyota University Cricket Championship launched by NDTV

NDTV has taken an initiative for upbringing cricket at university level by launching Toyota University Cricket Championship or University Premier league. This cricket carnival will start in second week of February and end by feb end.  Total of 8 teams from 4 zones will play 16 matches in pursuit to be the University champion. All the matches will be played in T 20 format. NDTV goal is to cover 200 universities 20 lack student across India through this tournament. NDTV has collaborated with Association of Indian Universities & HRD Ministry to promote the Toyota University Cricket Championship. University Premier League or Toyota University Cricket Championship is extension of Rohington Baria Tournament. The top 8 teams of Rohington Baria Tournament will play in University Premier league or Toyota University cricket championship.

NDTV Executive Co-Chairperson Dr Prannoy Roy said  “Great camera-work, excellent graphics and all other factors will make this tournament truly world-class”. While Bollywood super star King Khan (Shahrukh) is the face of this tournament and he said “Whatever I am today, it is because of what I learnt at that level – school and universities. Nothing better than this. One of the finest initiatives from NDTV, apart from Marks for Sports”.

All the matches will be live broadcasted on all 4 NDTV channels along with one of the top sports channels in India such as Star Cricket or Ten Sports or Neo Sports. SO This is time for all the young university players to show the world their talent and say “Ab Hamari Bari hai”.
