Maxwell gets Million dollars in IPL 2013 auction

2013 IPL auction had more surprises and any other IPL auctions held since its inception in 2008. The players whose pocket got fatter were over seas players from Australia, and South Africa.

Glenn Maxwell from Australia is considered one of the best T 20 player in the world was bought by Nita Ambani’s Mumbai Indian team for whooping one million us dollars.  Maxwell got this money for his all round abilities. Nita Ambani, owner of the Mumbai Indians, said. “He can bat, bowl and I think he is a great fielder. We had thought of some names before we came here and he was one of them.” The another Australian who got rich by $ 700000 was fast bowler Kane Richardson, who was bought by Pune warrior.

$11.9m was spend in buying 37 players by all the franchisee. Most franchises used up substantial portions of their US$12.5m salary cap, but – Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kings XI and Royals – used only half the money.
