Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir played a fine knock made 75 runs from 54 balls including 8 boundaries and 2 sixes to take India 157/5. Pakistani fast bowler Umar Gul claimed 3 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs. Chasing the target of 158 runs Pakistani opening batsman Imran Nazir played a cracking innings made 33 runs from 14 balls. The focus of the match was Misbahul Haq dismissal in the last over when Pakistan need only 4 runs from 3 balls at the crucial stage. Joginder Singh picked up Misbah ul Haq to finish the game. I K Pathan (India) decided Player of the Match while Shahid Afridi (Pakistan) declared played of the tournament.
