Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, is a Indian cricketer, who is also known as Master Blaster around the world.  He is a right hand batsman and right hand bowler.  Sachin opens the innings in ODI matches for India. In test matches he plays as a middle order batsman. He is the captain of Mumbai Indians. Sachin has the maximum number of centuries and runs registered in against his name.  He is also got double century in one day international match. He is got 99 centuries in both form of the game. Wisden has ranked Sachin as the second greatest batsman after the great Sir Donald Bradman in test match arena, and second greatest batsman after sir Viv Richards in ODI matches.

Sachin is being honoured with Padma Vibhushan award, and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award.

Schooling and early training

Sachin studied in Shradashram Vidyamandir, a high school in Mumbai, where he was trained by his coach Ramakant Achrekar. He also went to MRF pace academy in Chennai, to be a fast bowler. Dennis Lillee, the coach of MRF pace academy advice Sachin to make his career as a batsman.

Domestic Career

In the year 1988 Sachin made century in each innings of a school match and was involved in 664 runs partnership with his school mate Vinod Kambali. In the same year at the age of 15, Sachin scored a ton for Bombay (Mumbai) against Gujrat in his 1st first  class match, hence becoming the youngest Indian batsman to score a century on a first class debut match. Sachin is the only player to had score a century in all three of his Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy and Irani Trophy debuts. At the age of 19, Sachin became the first overseas player to play for Yorkshire English County Club.

International Career

At the age of 16, Sachin played his first test match against Pakistan at Karachi on 15 November 1989. He was bowled by Pakistani fast bowler, Waqar Younis. That match was also a debut match for Waqar Younis. Sachin played his first One day international against Pakistan on 18th December 1989.

Indian Premier League career

Sachin was named as captain of Mumbai Franchise in IPL. He has captained Mumbai Indians in all the four IPL seasons.

Family and personal details

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born on 24th april 1973, in Mumbai. His Father, Ramesh Tendulkar was a Marathi Writer, and Rajni, his mother, worked in a insurance industry.

His height is 5 ft 5 inch and his weigh around 60 kg.

He is married to Anjali, a doctor in the year 1995 and they are blessed with two children, Sara and Arjun.

He likes eating Chinese food in his own restaurant. Two restaurants “Tendulkar’s” at Colaba, (Mumbai ) and “Sachin’s” at Mulund, Mumbai and Bangalore is owned by Sachin.
