In India Bollywood and cricket goes hand in hand so what better way to juxtapose the two.Especially when the fourth season of IPL is approaching it’s final stretch.I have tried summarizing this season using some of the titles of Hindi films. However this is for pure reading pleasure and no offence and disrespect is meant to anyone. So here it goes:

1. Faltu: Starring David Hussey. The man landed in India with some serious reputation and was the costliest buy for Kings XI Punjab however he came a cropper as the tournament unfolded scoring a meagre 64 runs in the eight matches he played. Thus becoming a complete “FALTU” for Adam Gilchrist.

.Main Hoon Na: Starring Virender Sehwag. The najafgarh bomber seemed to have used the SRK blockbuster’s title in his casual witty style to the franchisee owners. He had little clue though that the owners would take his word so seriously that they would not just sleep through the auctions but to make matters worse they would distribute the DVD’s of the same movie to other members of the team with an accompanying note “with love to the side kicks”.

.Dabangg: Starring Chris Gayle.Like the central character of the movie chulbul pandey aka our own Salman Khan, perhaps the only other person for whom the word insolent can not be used in a derogatory way is Mr. Gayle. If khan portrayed the character with extreme finesse on the celluloid it’s unmistakable swagger which defines Chris Gayle whenever he is on the field. The way he defied West Indies Cricket Board and then came up with one sterling performance after another makes him DABANGG of this season.

.LSD:  Starring Shane Warne and Sanjay Dixit. While we can’t really use the same full forms which stood for LSD: the movie. Our own LSD stands for “loss-shane-dixit”.It was after the match against Chennai Super Kings when Shane Warne blamed the pitch for the loss that Sanjay “Dixit” Secretary of Rajasthan Cricket Association tweeted how Warne used to get all the help when lalit Modi was at the helm of affairs. This led to the biggest controversy of the IPL 4 and threatened to open a can of worms.Alas nothing of that sort happened but I feel we are yet to hear the last word in this.

.Love Ka Punchnama: Starring Shane Warne and Liz Hurley.Warne in action again, this time for his affair with British beauty Liz Hurley. Not sooner then former wife of Arun Nayar descended on the land of Royals our paparazzi went ballistic with stories ranging from the exchange of kisses during the match to their secret night outs after the matches.A newspaper even went on to state that it’s the love of Ms Hurley which made Warne used botox to take care of his wrinkles and went under the knife to look leaner. Off course the man denied it vehemently claiming it was because of yoga. Now, haven’t we heard this before.Come on there is no harm accepting it.After all it would be still less harmful then sexting.Howzatt Warnie?

.Buddha Hoga Tera Baap: Starring Saurav Ganguly. No denying Dada’s cricketing abilities but it’s high time he needs to realise and accept that his best is behind him.Although he can still be “accommodated” like the way Pune Warriors did but it’s kinda  opprobrious to use the word accommodating for a man who once ruled Indian cricket. Is it because of his growing age that Dada has to jostle for a place in the eleven rather than straightway walking into it? Try mentioning the same to Saurav.I won’t be surprised if he uses the title of the new film by Big B to express how he feels about the whole thing.

.Singh is King: Starring who else Harbhajan Singh. In spite of being criticised again and again turbanator has shown that he is still the best in the business. He has already taken 14 wickets at a miserly economy rate of 6.73 and coupled with his growing consistency with the willow Bhajji sure has turned a new leaf.Ashwin may have taken more wickets but he is yet to establish himself in the national team while Harbhajan has been there for more than a decade now and all the comparisons and criticism seems to have pepped up the  wily Sardar.Perhaps that explains the roar after he hit the winning Six against Kolkata Knight Riders.

.Mera Naam Joker: Starring……yeah you guessed it right,it had to be Santhakumaran Sreesanth. The man knows how to stay in the lime light that too for purely non cricketing reasons. This time he coloured his hair ORANGE…yus sir,ORANGE.Reason??? May be it was a new idea to distract batsmen or perhaps to show loyalty towards his new team Kochi Tuskers.Oohh wait I read somewhere Riya Sen loves Oranges..err you fool she was talking about the fruit and not colour.

.Bheja Fry: Starring Pune Warriors. Now here was a team who had in their ranks one of the most destructive T-20 batsmen in Uthappa,Manish Pandey and Ryder not to leave India’s World cup hero Yuvraj Singh.Even the bowling was more than decent with Karthik,Parnell,Mitchell Marsh and new sensation Rahul Sharma. They started with a bang with two consecutive victories and appeared the most balanced side but suddenly something went wrong. What ???? Nobody seems to know.Bheja Fry.

.Phas Gaye Re O Bala or was it Obama who cares as long as no one is bowling the last over.Laxmipathi Balaji had done no wrong through out the season untill he came on to bowl that dreadful last six balls against Mumbai Indians.Come to think of it Bala did not bowl too badly in that over as well but you can not have fielders for ball coming off the edges.Former Indian pacer took 10 wickets in the tournament even picking up a man of the match but unfortunately he will only be remembered for that horrendous last over.
